BIOTIC GAMING WORKSHOP
Biotic gaming is the combining the world of biology with real time interactive gaming. We'll build a Euglena game station (including PS2 game controller) by starting with assembling a microscope out of a hacked webcam. The stage will be made out of laser cut parts and connected to a laptop running OpenComputerVision in Processing. The gaming layer will be introduced through the projection of virtual gaming environments on the microscope footage. After trying out a number of demo games, it's up to you to design and perhaps build new games (note: building games requires coding skills).
The workshop is inspired by the work of Riedel-Kruse Lab and has builds upon the work of Roland van Dierendonck and Christian Schultz at Waag Society.
